Embedding GIS in OpenERP
Development of a GIS module adding geolocation functionality in OpenERP.
This module provides the ability to add geographical data to customers' details, sales and any dataset stored inside OpenERP relevant to geospatial information.
Geospatial information includes the list of applications and reports that enables our customers to develop & defining business goals and strategy for success.
With this in mind, some examples of geospatial information usage would be:
- Project a contact's location onto a map
- Geographical queries and filters (ex: list all customers within range of 10 km of a specific point)
- Geo-marketing (ex: customer areas analysis, direct marketing)
- Fleet management
- Optimal route discovery
