Electronic Tolling Collection Interoperability

  • ETC Interoperability offers road users a seamless experience. It promotes healthy competition between road operators while allowing cooperation for the common goal
  • The IDBS is a centralized interoperability server with an open architecture and standards which are made available to all participants in the road tolling interoperability scheme. Participants (Road Operators/Authorities/ Banks/any other party) are able to connect to this server through dedicated communication lines using secure, industry standard, well-defined data exchange protocols and formats
  • It is a fully automated symmetrical bidirectional system for multiple operators, each being able to send and/or receive data such as OBU lists, transactions and vehicle photos
  • Any authorized participant can use this server, regardless of the type of back office software that they employ, by using the simple specified connection methods, at any time of day
  • The system's database is designed to offer high performance, easy extensibility and expandability, and at the same time robustness in events such as network outages
